Mandarin Interpreter (Emergency)

• Handle incoming telephone and video calls, providing real-time interpretation between Mandarin and English speakers
• Deliver accurate consecutive interpretation while processing complex information quickly and concisely
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and recognize idiomatic expressions unique to both languages
• Maintain professionalism and courtesy throughout all interactions with clients and callers
• Apply appropriate industry terminology across diverse sectors including healthcare, finance, insurance, legal, and government services
• Support emergency services, law enforcement, and court proceedings with precise interpretation
• Continuously update knowledge of industry glossaries and terminology through ongoing training

• Native-level fluency in both English and Mandarin
• Advanced understanding of cultural dynamics, implications, and idiomatic expressions in both languages
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and industry-specific vocabulary across multiple sectors
• Minimum high school education or equivalent qualification
• Ability to focus on computer screens for extended periods without significant difficulty or fatigue
• Comfortable operating computer peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse) consistently throughout shifts
• Capacity to maintain a stationary position during the majority of scheduled shifts
• Willingness to undergo written and audio language assessments as part of the hiring process
• Medical interpreter certification from an approved provider (advantageous)
