Job Description

The Business Analyst works closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and commercial teams to help the company grow its business and improve the way it operates. They analyze market trends, sales results, business opportunities, and sales, then provide those data to Management for insights and strategic recommendations. They act as an internal consultant by finding areas for improvement, oversees cross-functional commercial projects, and ensures that strategy choices are backed by meaningful analysis and quantifiable results. They work with Sales, Marketing, Service, Operations, Finance, and other departments to improve the company's overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Strategy & Market Intelligence
  • Research the market and analyse industry trends, competitor activities, customer behaviour, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Find new business growth opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to Management on what actions they should take.
  • Keep track of changes in the market and suggest ways for the company to stay competitive.
  • Assist management in assessing new goods, services, markets, and business prospects.
2. Business Performance Analysis
  • Analyse how well the business is performing by looking at sales, profit, new customers, conversion rates, product performance, and market share.
  • Analyse business data and turn it into useful information that Management can use to make decisions.  
  • Identify gaps in business performance and recommend ways to improve the overall commercial results.  
  • When necessary, create feasibility studies and business cases for strategic initiatives.
3. Sales Process Optimisation
  • Track customer and sales activities to identify inactive or dormant customer accounts. 
  • Find out why customers have stopped doing business with the company, such as missed follow-ups, business declines, or other contributing factors.  
  • Work with the Sales team to understand why customers became inactive and suggest ways for Sales to improve their follow-ups and manage customer accounts better.  
  • Monitor whether efforts to bring inactive customers back are effective, and report the progress and results to Management.  
4. Commercial Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Create, maintain, and improve dashboards and  and management reports.
  • Prepare performance reports every month, quarter, and year.  
  • Review past sales performance to understand what went well, what didn't, what the team can learn from it, and what can be improved.  
  • Monitor important business KPIs and monitor progress against business objectives.
  • Present business findings, trends, and recommendations to Management clearly, including what actions should be taken.  
5. Strategic Projects & Business Improvement
  • Work on important business projects assigned by Management or the PMO.
  • Coordinate projects that involve multiple departments, such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Make sure projects objectives, timelines, and deliverables are achieved effectively.
  • Support change management and business transformation initiatives across commercial functions.  
6.  Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Give commercial leaders objective analysis and recommendations.
  • Work with key people from different departments to understand business challenges and find areas for improvement.
  • Encourage communication across cross-functional teams to ensure that strategic objectives are implemented successfully.
  • Develop good relationships with different departments so everyone can work together towards the company's goals.  
7.  Continuous Improvement
  • Encourage a culture of ongoing development in all business processes.
  • Evaluate industry best practices and suggest creative ways to improve business performance. 
  • Measure whether the changes or initiatives introduced by the company are effective.  
  • Keep looking for ways to make business processes more efficient and improve commercial results.
