Spanish - Mandarin - English Translator/Interpreter

About the Role

Our client is currently in the process of establishing operations in Central America and is looking for a highly capable Spanish - Mandarin - English Translator to support communication across its international teams and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing written and verbal translation across Spanish, Mandarin and English, including document translation, meetings, discussions, presentations and real-time/live interpretation.

As the client's operations develop, the role is expected to involve international travel and potential relocation/extended assignments in Central America to support the establishment and ongoing operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional translation between Spanish, Mandarin and English.
• Translate business documents, contracts, reports, presentations, correspondence, SOPs and other materials.
• Provide live/consecutive interpretation during meetings, discussions, presentations and business negotiations.
• Support communication between Mandarin-speaking management/stakeholders and Spanish-speaking local employees, partners, suppliers and other parties.
• Interpret during business meetings, site visits, training sessions and operational activities.
• Assist with communication with local authorities, vendors, contractors and business partners where required.
• Review translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, terminology and appropriate business context.
• Explain cultural or language nuances where necessary to avoid misunderstandings.
• Support the preparation of bilingual or trilingual documents and communications.
• Assist management and project teams during the setup and establishment of operations in Central America.
• Travel internationally when required to support meetings, site visits, training and operational activities.
• Potentially undertake longer-term assignments or relocation to Central America once the client's operations are established.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive business, commercial and operational information.
• Perform other translation, interpretation and administrative support duties as required.

Requirements

• Fluent in Spanish, Mandarin and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in all three languages.
• Strong ability to perform live/consecutive interpretation accurately and confidently.
• Excellent written translation skills, with attention to detail and proper business terminology.
• Previous experience in translation, interpretation, international business, administration, operations or a similar role will be an advantage.
• Comfortable working with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Able to understand business context and convey meaning accurately rather than providing purely literal translations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, particularly during a new business setup.
• Willing and able to travel internationally and work in Central America when required.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a new country and multicultural environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and other standard business tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, International Business, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional translation/interpreting certification is an advantage.
• Experience working with Chinese companies or Mandarin-speaking management is highly desirable.
• Experience in Latin America, Central America or other international markets would be an advantage.
• Experience translating technical, commercial, legal or operational documents would be beneficial.
