Job Description
- Develop and plan menus based on customer preferences, market trends, and seasonal ingredient availability.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily kitchen operations while assigning tasks to kitchen staff.
- Ensure all food orders are prepared accurately and served promptly.
- Maintain consistent standards for food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Inspect incoming deliveries to ensure all ingredients meet quality and freshness standards.
- Manage food costs by optimizing inventory usage and minimizing waste.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and arrange for repairs when necessary.
- Train, mentor, and support the development of junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Monitor portion control to ensure consistency and cost efficiency.
- Address customer feedback regarding food quality and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to achieve operational excellence and financial objectives.
- Assist in managing kitchen budgets and controlling operating expenses.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the planning and execution of special events, catering functions, and promotional activities.
